Tough cookies

Markets and restaurants make it difficult to get and stay low carb. You have to figure out how to bypass their "normally comes with" each menu item. It's in a stores best interest to sell the foods they have. Well, bread is a staple of all that I have known while growing up. So far, bread is as far as my eyes can see.

One thing. I was having a conversation with this guy from Thailand. He told me that "fat people are considered healthy people" over there, because they are considered to be wealthy. Over here fat people are not considered healthy: just the opposite. He has found most people in Thailand to be skinny. Apparently, bread is a luxury in Thailand. He explained that most people over there live on fish and other meats and rice and some vegetables. Well, that's practically what we call the "Low Carb" diet in the U.S.

Anyway, cookies and other breads offer the senses a myriad array of pleasant delights. The smells, the tastes, the textures, the aesthetics, and even the sounds breads make can leave one helpless in a market or restaurant. What to do?

Use your head and don't go shopping on an empty stomach. Eat at home when you can.
